This article is, of course, a joke. But it serves a purpose: to shed light on the real therapeutic claims of physiotherapy. The profession is highly regulated at an international level, and this is what makes physiotherapy strong—it is based on realistic expectations.

What Physiotherapy Can and Cannot Do

Physiotherapy is primarily focused on treating musculoskeletal conditions. Its claims do not extend beyond that. The majority of physiotherapy treatments revolve around low back pain (lumbago), neck pain (cervicalgia), and joint issues. Conditions such as sprained ankles, knee pain, and shoulder dysfunctions are among the most common concerns treated by physiotherapists.

Another key point: physiotherapists are healthcare professionals trained to distinguish between musculoskeletal disorders and systemic conditions. If there is any doubt, they will refer patients to a physician. This is an important safeguard—overreaching therapeutic claims can delay the diagnosis and treatment of more serious conditions, and as a profession, physiotherapy takes this responsibility very seriously.

The Role of Physiotherapy in Healthcare

In some cases, physiotherapy is also used to rule out musculoskeletal involvement when symptoms are unclear. Regardless of the condition, consulting a physiotherapist can help prevent acute pain from becoming chronic or lead to a medical referral for more appropriate treatment. This increases the chances of successful management of potentially serious conditions.

So, while physiotherapy won’t magically restore your hair color, it does play a crucial role in pain management, rehabilitation, and improving overall physical health—all within the scope of evidence-based care.
